Switzerland’s Embassy in Oman hosted a celebration to mark three significant milestones: Switzerland’s National Day, the 10th anniversary of the embassy’s establishment in Oman, and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The event, held on Tuesday last week, brought together dignitaries, officials, and members of the Swiss and Omani communities in a vibrant display of friendship and shared values.
The celebration took place at the InterContinental Muscat Hotel, where the Swiss Ambassador to Oman, H.E. Thomas Oertle, warmly welcomed guests. Ambassador Thomas Oertle highlighted the enduring partnership between Oman and Switzerland, emphasizing their shared commitment to peace, innovation, and sustainability.
‘On Tuesday evening we celebrated the Swiss National Day and the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Embassy in Oman’, said Ambassador Thomas Oertle in a social media post. ‘6 musicians from Switzerland playing traditional instruments musically framed the evening. [Thank you emoji] to all the sponsors who made this possible’, he added.
Commenting on the celebrations, Switzerland’s Embassy in Oman said: ‘The event came alive with the talented Swiss musicians, who set a delightful and vibrant ambiance with their performance’.
