An event was organised at the National Press Club in Islamabad yesterday, Friday at 3 PM, in remembrance of Pakistan’s former and longest serving Interior Minister, Senator Rehman Malik. Senator Rehman Malik served as the country’s Interior Minister from 2008 till 2013, and sadly passed away earlier this year.
The remembrance event was organised by his two sons – Ali Rehman Malik, a barrister and the chairman of the Institute of Research and Reform, and Umar Rehman Malik, former Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh.
Yesterday’s event provided many notable figures, including prominent politicians, senior journalists and the public with the opportunity to express their condolences to the household of the late Interior Minister. Some of the notable guests who attended the event include Senator Farhatullah Babar, Riaz Ali Turi and many others from the Pakistan People’s Party.
Also, attendees spoke about the outstanding humanitarian work that Senator Rehman Malik used to do. A prime example of his humanitarian work is illustrated by the following social media post.
The organisers of this event, the two sons of the late Interior Minister, expressed their gratitude to the President of the National Press Club, Anwar Raza, for helping to organise it.
Meanwhile, people living outside Pakistan who have had the opportunity to work with Senator Rehman Malik have asked for similar remembrance events to be organised in their respective cities as well.
