London, United Kingdom – The Pakistan High Commission in London recently hosted a vibrant Chand Raat celebration at Pakistan House, bringing together diplomats, British Pakistanis, and members of the Muslim community from various nationalities. The event, hosted by Dr. Sarah Naeem, spouse of High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal, was a night of joy, unity, and cultural festivity.
The highlight of the evening was a mesmerising live performance by The Leo Twins, Haroon & Sharoon, the renowned Pakistani musicians known for their multi-instrumental artistry. Their soulful renditions set the tone for an unforgettable Chand Raat experience.
Adding to the cultural vibrancy, guests indulged in traditional henna application, admired beautifully crafted bangles (churies), and savoured authentic Pakistani cuisine. The event was particularly enjoyable for children, who were entertained by a live magician and delighted to receive special Eidi packs.
Dr. Sarah Naeem, addressing the attendees, emphasised the essence of Chand Raat as more than just Eid preparations. She highlighted its significance in fostering unity and joy, stating, “Chand Raat is not just about Eid preparations; it is an evening of joy, unity, and cultural celebration, bringing families and communities together. It builds excitement for Eid-ul-Fitr and marks the end of a month of fasting with happiness and gratitude.”
As the celebrations transitioned into Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, the Pakistan High Commission London hosted Eid prayers on its premises. The prayers were attended by British Pakistanis, High Commission officials, and their families. A special Dua was offered for the prosperity of Pakistan.
High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal, in his Eid message, expressed joy over the successful completion of Ramadan, a month of discipline, patience, and tolerance. He extended warm Eid greetings to the Pakistani diaspora in the UK and Muslims worldwide, praying for continued peace, prosperity, and unity.
The Pakistan High Commission London’s efforts in organising these grand Chand Raat and Eid celebrations underscore its commitment to strengthening cultural ties and fostering a sense of belonging among the Pakistani diaspora in the UK. Events like these serve as a bridge between generations, allowing younger British Pakistanis to stay connected to their heritage and traditions.
With an atmosphere filled with joy, laughter, and togetherness, the celebrations in London reflected the true spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr, making it a memorable occasion for all attendees.
