The climate in Pakistan is terrible due to pollution and lack of greenery such as trees, plants and green spaces. Something that Imran Khan, the country’s Prime Minister, has been fighting to change over the past few years.

But on BTS member RM’s birthday the country became a tad bit greener and the air a bit cleaner because of the excellent act accomplished by Pakistani fans of the world renowned South Korean group.

To mark RM’s birthday, ARMYs bought small to medium sized plants as part of an initiative to reduce harmful pollution in the country.

After putting the plants into a vase or planting it into the ground, ARMYs put a picture or in some instances RM’s name next to the plant and published the pictures on social media with the hashtag ‘#GreenPakistanForJoon’.

After having completed the project, one fan wrote: “We Pakistani Armys did a Plant Project For Green Pakistan on Namjoon’s Birthday”.

These young people should be recognised for this outstanding deed because the country urgently needs more trees, plants and green spaces to reduce the impact of climate change.
