It’s officially winter in the UK which means that it is a very difficult time for some people, much more so during the ongoing pandemic.

With rising joblessness, increasing poverty and businesses ceasing to exist, this winter is proving to be more challenging than previous years in recent history.

For example, the BBC recently reported that the “unemployment numbers have been rising sharply”.

During such difficult and challenging times, a group of Muslims in South London have decided to do something incredibly amazing to help the less fortunate in their local communities.

With the support of their congregation, Al-Noor Institute is organising weekly food drives on Thursday evenings from 6:30PM to 7:30PM.

According to their official poster, the food drives are aimed at helping the following groups of people: the “homeless, elderly, disabled and refugees”.

At these weekly food drives opposite Norbury Station in South West London, volunteers for the Al-Noor Institute are distributing a range of delicacies, such as: biryani, water, fruits, muffins and, of course, tea.
