The wait is finally over. Well, almost – because Spotify has officially announced they are launching the app in Pakistan in the ‘next few day’, according to an official tweet on social media.

In total, Spotify is increasing its reach more than 80 countries and Pakistan is one of them as explicitly highlighted in their social media statement.

“We launch in 80+ new markets over the next few days. See you soon Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nigeria”, stated the official account of Spotify on Twitter.

Many people from Pakistan had been trying this for years, these efforts were especially driven by Pakistani fans of BTS as well as others.

As the hard work seems to have paid off, music fans in Pakistan, especially fans of BTS, who are also known as ARMYs, are now celebrating the wonderful and delightful news.

As illustrated by the above tweet, BTS ARMYs in Pakistan are over the moon at this awesome news.

In an exclusive comment for NewsLeaf.com, the admin for BTS Pak Official told me about how they feel: “It has lightened up our hopes. And now they finally have a statement to launch and we feel like our struggles worked. We think Spotify was much needed music application. And this felt so good that such big companies are establishing their platforms in Pakistan as well.”

There was also another positive Spotify related news story regarding Pakistani music recently. ‘Ghalat Fehmi’ – by Asim Azhar andd Zenab Fatimah Sultan – is the “first ever Pakistani song to enter the TOP 10 on @Spotify viral charts worldwide”.

Both of these developments are undoubtedly positive news stories for the development of arts, culture and music in the country.
