A new campaign has been started by avid music listeners who are demanding that Spotify should launch in Pakistan as soon as possible. This campaign has been kick started particularly by the fans of the South Korean group, BTS, whose fans are also know as ARMYs.

The music streaming app, Spotify, which has overwhelmingly positive ratings, is currently in use by people in more that 70 countries; this also includes many Asian countries such as India. However, it’s not available in Pakistan at the moment in spite of popular demand.

In fact, people want Spotify to be launched in Pakistan so much that “‘#SpotifyInPakistan” is trending at the top spot today on Twitter. This is largely due to the hard work and efforts of BTS fans in the country, especially by two hard working twitter accounts @bangtarmyangels and
@badTAEmiz.

The above proposal by @bangtarmyangels and @badTAEmiz has been welcomed by many people both inside and outside the country, stating that this will allow Pakistani artists to progress and also allow the country’s 200 million population to enjoy world class music from elsewhere as well.

This is a proposal that Prime Minister Imran Khan and his governing party, PTI, should definitely support because he and his party came into power largely due to the support of young people.

Therefore, it is time to give something to the young people of Pakistan – so they can get their own music and podcasts published on Spotify as well as enjoy the first class music of other countries.
