The hashtag, ‘#IHateJohnsonBecause’, is trending on Twitter in the UK today after a viral tweet by Tim Walker, an award-winning journalist at The New European newspaper.
After Mr Tim Walker, a former colleague of Boris Johnson, listed his reason for hating the Prime Minister, thousands of fellow social media users started to list their reason for hating the leader of the Conservative party. At the time of reporting, it is trending in second place with more than 10,000 people using the aforementioned hashtag to list their own reason for disliking Boris Johnson, a figure that is expected to increase rapidly as the government’s poor performance is likely to persist.
Reasons for hating Boris Johnson included the incredibly high Covid-19 death toll, an unhealthy obsession with Brexit and his despicable views towards minorities.
One of the most important reasons for #IHateJohnsonBecause came from the trend setter himself, Tim Walker, who tweeted that he hates the Prime Minister because “He lies.”
Another popular reason was based on Boris Johnson and his government’s poor preparation in response to the Covid-19, as Femi, a law graduate and a former campaigner at OFOC (Our Future, Our Choic) elaborated on in the below tweet:
Although Twitter doesn’t always reflect the reality of current affairs, Mr Tim Walker’s latest viral tweet does in fact reflect public mood based on the Prime Minister’s plummeting approval rating.
Boris Johnson’s approval rating are now so bad that he is ranked as the worst leader in the world because of his poor performance in handling the coronavirus pandemic, according to a recent YouGov survey.
He is ranked even lower than President Trump’s government even though the U.S. has the highest official coronavirus death toll, which means that the Britain has finally become a world leader in something (as Brexiteers always wished it would be after Brexit).
