Looking to escape to Italy whilst enjoying your stay in Basel? Then look no further than ‘i favoriti Caffè by Grieder’ in the centre of Switzerland’s cultural capital.

Located at Falknerstrasse and surrounded by world renowned clothing outlets, it’s less than a 5 minute walking distance away from Basel’s historical and magnificent Rathaus (German word for City Hall) and only a few tram stops away from Bahnhof SBB.

So, if you need a little Italian break from your shopping spree or from exploring one of Basel’s 40 museums – yes, you read that right, 40 museums! – then’i favoriti Caffè by Grieder’ is the place you should definitely go to.

A busy spot for locals and tourists alike, I decided to sit outside to immerse myself in Switzerland’s city life.

Their coffee art work is, as you can see from the picture above, is implemented to perfection, so much so that I was too busy taking pictures of my cappuccino rather than drinking it when the lovely staff member brought it to me with a slice of their delicious apple cake.

Their apple cake is the ideal confectionary item to pick alongside the coffee of your choice because each bite of their apple cake compliments each sip of cappuccino very well, and each sip of cappuccino compliments flawlessly each and every bite of their must-try apple cake.

I was highly pleased with their apple cake, so much so that I was tempted to go for another piece.

Can’t wait to go there again!
