Nestled in the heart of Pakistan’s food capital is Fresh Grounds, a one-of-a-kind Australian inspired café taking over Lahore’s coffee scene. The café has gained popularity and is becoming talk of the town for its innovative menu. From vegan soft serves to viral creations like the Dubai chocolate bowl, it wouldn’t be wrong to say Fresh Grounds is home to one of the most diverse menus with unique desserts in the city.

More than just a coffee shop

The intimate setting of the coffee shop has been the centre stage for the unique blend of artistry and relaxation for art enthusiasts. Surrounded by the rich aroma of coffee beans, visitors to the café can participate in the events hosted by the Café. Events like Sip, journal and repeat have been big hits in the past where participants can pause from the bustling city life to reflect and spend quality time with loved ones in the Cozy atmosphere.

The Tote bag painting workshop was also a popular event where one can unleash their inner artist while enjoying social company. You won’t want to miss out on future workshops so keep up-to-date with them on Instagram at @_fresh.grounds_

The visionaries behind the Cafe

This hidden gem is a proudly independently female owned business. It’s inspiring and encouraging to see women entrepreneurs running this type of an enterprise. It empowers other females in the community to pursue their passion in ventures by shattering glass ceilings. The space fosters an uplifting realm for aspiring female entrepreneurs.

I, whilst at the Café, tried a few items like their tiramisu latte, Açai bowl and the pistachio Matcha latte. The Pistachio Matcha Latte had a very subtle pistachio Flavour, the earthy flavour of the matcha was also not overpowering, the drink is a must try if you’re a fan of both pistachio and Matcha.

The Tiramisu Latte was served with mascarpone cream on the rim of the mug served along with a ladyfinger biscuit. The overall taste of the coffee was like any well crafted cup, the cream added an additional texture creating a balanced experience.

The Amazonian berry soft serve was the star of the menu and the most authentic taste I have found in the continent. The silky-smooth texture of the soft serve paired with the nuttiness of peanut butter and fruit made a perfect finish to my experience at Fresh Grounds.

The café also honours Pakistani culture by proudly presenting fusion items on their menu like the Kashmiri chai latte. So whether you’re looking for a quick take-away or seeking a distinctive coffee experience in Lahore do visit the Café.
