All Thought, Culture & Travel

From sand dunes to skyscrapers, from a rich and diverse history to man-made islands. The United Arab Emirates is more than just one of fastest growing economies, it’s an experience in itself that no other destination in the Middle East can offer. With booming visitors to the country each year, it’s safe to say the UAE is always bringing new tourist attractions for the world to experience.

Although popularly known for its modern identity, much of the historical sites and traditional neighbourhoods remain preserved for visitors to explore. The Gold Souk and Al Fahidi neighbourhood are must visit places for those wanting to get a true essence of Old Dubai.

The unique biodiversity and rich terrestrial make it a perfect location for travellers wanting to experience the best landscapes on the Persian Gulf. The UAE government describes it as a “location linking the East and West”.

My visit

During my visit, I noticed how convenient and easy it was to travel around the country. Dubai has one of the best transport systems with the metro linking every part of the city. While other Emirates like Sharjah have their own array of commute options to pick from.

The UAE is not only a land of opportunities but full of exciting adventures.

The highlight of my trip has to be taking a trip to the capital for Ferrari world in Yas Island , Abu Dhabi. The Formula Rossa in Ferrari world is the fastest roller coaster on the planet. The ride finished in just 1 minute and 30 seconds. Marking the most memorable roller coaster I’ve EVER been on. The Ferrari themed park is the ultimate adrenaline rush destination not to be missed if you’re a thrill seeker.

If you’re looking to experience the arctic cold in the midst of the fiery Arabian heat, Ski Dubai is the UAE’s own indoor ski resort inside Mall of the Emirates. Where you can meet penguins, enjoy live snowfall, or simply escape into a chairlift for mountain-like views.

What’s happening in the UAE?

Jutting in the heart of the country’s cultural landscape is Global Village, a fusion of entertainment, world class cuisine, shopping and spectacular shows.

Global village is an immersive experience that brings captivating pavilions from over 90 countries across the globe. The one of a kind park celebrates diversity by showcasing handicrafts and cutting-edge performances from different parts of the world all under one roof, offering something for everyone. You can book tickets to experience the vibrant atmosphere as Global Village remains open from October to April.

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix is back at the renowned Yas Marina Circuit from 5th Dec – 8th Dec 2024 . A perfect way to conclude the year for F1 enthusiasts. The prestigious event is more than just a racing championship gala, it’s a must-see blend of sports, spectacle and luxury not to be missed.

The season’s most awaited iconic The Dubai Shopping festival’s 30th edition is set to be held 6th Dec 2024 to 12 Jan 2025. The globally renowned DSF will showcase and transform Dubai during the winter season into a retail extravagance and showcase exciting events every night. So, don’t miss out on live entertainment. The DSF brings art installations, “Dubai Lights” at various locations across the city like the Al Seef Bluewater’s and Dubai design district. Giving art enthusiasts, visitors and locals an opportunity to experience the incredible installations outdoors.

Reflection

The United Arab Emirates has been known for remarkable growth since the last few decades which has fostered the development for its citizens and international visitors. It’s more than just a home to iconic landmarks like the world’s tallest building, the largest shopping mall and choreographed fountain shows. It’s home to millions of expats. The country will continue to shine on the world stage.
