South Africa defeats England by 7 wickets in the first One Day International. The match took place at Newlands Cricket Ground.
South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first, a decision that proved to be victorious.
England scored 258 runs at the expense of 8 wickets in their full 50 Overs. Their top three high scoring bats men were: Joe Denly, Chris Woakes and Jason Roy.
In response, South Africa completed the target in 47.4 Overs, with 14 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand. The top scorers for the South African side were: Quinton de Kock, Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen.
Both teams will now play two more One Day International matches. The second match will take place this Friday, while the third match will take place on this Sunday.
