LARKANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari presided over a high-level meeting in Larkana to review ongoing development projects in the district. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Larkana, Sharjeel Noor Channa, briefed the chairman on various infrastructural improvements and initiatives undertaken in the region.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Tahir Sangi, Mayor Anwar Leghari, and senior PPP leaders including Nisar Khuhro, Jameel Soomro, Sohail Siyal, Nazeer Baghio, Adil Unar, Khursheed Junejo, Ejaz Laghari, and Khair Muhammad Sheikh.
During the briefing, DC Larkana highlighted several key projects:
Road Infrastructure: A total of 32 kilometers of roads connecting different villages to Larkana city have been constructed, enhancing connectivity and transportation.
Bridges & Waterways: Seventeen small bridges have been built over various canals to facilitate smooth movement.
Education: Twenty schools in National Assembly constituency NA-194 have been solarized, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply for students and staff.
Healthcare: Twelve health centers that were destroyed in the recent floods have been reconstructed to improve medical facilities for the public.
Highway Expansion: The Wagan Road leading to Indus Highway has been converted into a dual carriageway, ensuring better traffic flow and safety.
Urban Development: The main city road, Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao Road, connecting SSP Chowk to Chandka Bridge, has been fully reconstructed.
Ongoing Repairs: Work is in progress on the construction and rehabilitation of roads at 27 different locations across the city.
Mr Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasised the importance of expediting the development projects and ensuring timely completion. He reiterated his commitment to the progress and welfare of this constituency, directing officials to maintain high standards in infrastructure development and public services.
The meeting underscored the PPP’s continuous efforts in improving Larkana’s infrastructure and providing better facilities to its residents.
