Ali Rehman Malik, chairman of the Institute of Research and Reforms and son of Pakistan’s late Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik, sponsored a Women’s T20 Cricket Match, which took place today at the National Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Today’s match took place between the teams of Peshawar and Islamabad, with the Islamabad cricket women’s team winning the trophy after an intensely, hard-fought contest between the two sides.
Both sides played incredibly hard to clinch the win in today’s cricket match in Pakistan’s capital.
The purpose of the match was “exhibit the the power of sports to inspire women and unite communities”, according to a press release issued by the Institute of Research and Reform, and the Rehman Malik Foundation.
Asked as to why Mr Ali Rehman Malik organised today’s cricket match, he stated to the press that “he is continuing the legacy of his late father, Senator A. Rehman Malik, by advocating for women’s empowerment, minority rights, and the welfare of marginalised communities”.
Mr Ali Rehman Malik also spoke about the significance of today’s game, saying that today’s match “exemplifies our commitment to empowering women and fostering solidarity among our people, a message that resonates deeply in these challenging times”.
Umar Rehman Malik, head of Pakistan People’s Party Digital Media Islamabad, appreciated today’s game by saying that “in a moment of unity, players from both teams came together to symbolise the shared spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, reinforcing the message of inclusivity and harmony that the Unity Cup represents”.
Not to be disappointed if anyone missed today’s must-see match because Ali Rehman Malik, chairman of the Institute of Research and Reform, and Riaz Ali Turi, director at the Institute of Research and Reform, have promised to organise similar events in the future.
